Sikhalo Foundation, a non-profit organisation, has been dedicated to empowering children with Autism and Down syndrome, as well as supporting vulnerable families and individuals. Through its advocacy, community development initiatives, and food assistance programs, the foundation has made a profound impact on numerous lives.
According to recent statistics, approximately 1 in 54 children in Malawi are diagnosed with Autism, while 1 in 1,100 children are born with Down syndrome. These children often face significant challenges in accessing quality education, healthcare, and social services, which can hinder their ability to reach their full potential.
The partnership between Sikhalo Foundation and Sandi Thandiza Rehabilitation Centre is crucial in addressing these challenges. By providing staff training in therapeutic techniques, educational strategies, and inclusive practices, this partnership will ensure that children with Autism and Down syndrome receive the care and support they need to thrive.
By empowering these children, we can help them discover their unique potentials, develop their skills, and lead fulfilling lives. It is our collective responsibility to create an inclusive and supportive environment that allows them to succeed.
